I am suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and congestive heart failure. After my most recent hospitalization (Dec 2015), my condition have gone a lot worse. I was admitted for congestive heart failure, where they intravenously gave Lasix to bring down the fluid accumulation. I have not slept through the night since then, have not slept for more than an hour at a stretch and is in a lot of discomfort, especially at night. They have tried everything, including sleep aids, which have caused hallucinations. I am not mobile on my own (suffered a right side stroke during recent hospitalization), needs constant attention through the night, and is on oxygen 24X7 (4litre). I am also very depressed all the time. Appetite has considerably gone down. Please advise to bring me some relief, and improve my quality of life.
Dear Doctor,
1. How to improve my quality of life? I am not able to get any sleep at all and is very anxious and jittery - much more at night, needs constant attention during night. Tried melatonin. Other sleep aids/tablets tried caused hallucinations. When using the CPAP, has a lot of body itching every time when using it. Tried it for 1/2 hr - 1 hr before bedtime, did not help with sleep.
2. Am I getting the right medication? As I am not very mobile, I have not been able to visit the doctor (but my labs are being done and communicated to the doctor).
3. How to prevent the itching of skin (whole body)? I also had peeling skin on my legs and developed wounds, for which I was on antibiotics recently. My appetite is very low. I still has some fluid accumulation in my thighs and legs.
